Michel Barsoum at LMGP, Chaire of excellence 2017 Fondation Nanoscience
Michel Barsoum, proffesor at Drexel University in Philadelphie, has been selected by the Fondation Nanoscience for the 2017 chaire of excellence
to
The Chaire of excellence project, coordinated by Thierry Ouisse at LMGP, starts from the use of single cyrstals of MAX phases, a new class of nano-lamellar materials. The chair allowed to invite Prof. Michel Barsoum (Drexel University, PA USA), internationally recognised as the "founding father" and leader of MAX phase research. Pr. Barsoum's team carries a research activity on M-Xenes, which are new txo dimensional (2D) materials obtained by exfolation or chemical etching from the MAX phases. These materials present unique physical properties and can be used in numerous application areas as energy storage devices, or even biomedical applications.
