Abstract
The multiple aspects of managing materials to be present in urban mines will be presented, based on the example of a battery. First, criteria for their second life(s) will be discussed and second, insights into the recycling protocols of metals from these objects will be described, from traditional hydrometallurgical means to more innovative routes.
