Nanobiotechnology and Biomimetic Systems

We construct 2D and 3D functional soft-matter interfaces through the self-assembly of lipids, proteins, and polymers.
Our objectives are to
(i) develop a fundamental understanding of interfacial processes between biological tissues and soft matter;
(ii) design lipid-based compartmentalized systems to control and manipulate ion gradients;
(iii) develop bioinspired nanoengineered systems for applications in technology and medicine.
