2022 - 2024: Master's degree in Montpellier, "softmat, matter, and disorder".
I am a soft matter physicist, and I am part of the ERC Energion supervised by Prof. Donald Martin and Marco Maccarini. The subject of my PhD is "Optimising ion transport in nanostructured systems of artificial cells that incorporate purified co-transport proteins into lipid bilayers", which means finding an optimal protocol to physically reconstitute/incorporate the NhaA antiporter into bilayers. The bilayers are usually made of lipids and molecules (cardiolipin, cholesterol,...). The bilayers I am talking about are vesicles. Then, once we find the right composition and protocol, we are going to build a controlled assembly of vesicles. To characterise the incorporation, I am using ellipsometry and QCM-D (both can be combined). To build the vesicles and the assembly, I am using microfluidic devices, the devices are chips created that I create by lithography.
