30 juin 2015 : Seminar LMGP - Erki Kärber - Nanostructures and extremely thin films for photovoltaics by wet-chemical methods

Erki Kärber, PhD
Tallinn University of Technology

Abstract

Chemical spray pyrolysis (CSP) method is a simple, fast and easily scalable wet chemical method to produce thin oxide- and sulphide layers and metal nanoparticles. Our group has substantial experience in using the CSP for deposition of thin films and solar cells. Related work includes the synthesis and properties of ZnS, SnS, CuInS2, In2S3, NiO, TiO2, ZnO, ZnO:In, ZnO nanostructures, Au nanoparticles, and extremely thin absorber solar cells based on ZnO nanorods. Our team of 10 in Tallinn is led by Malle Krunks, the team has access to a range of modern equipment for materials characterization. We published 16 articles in 2014, 13 articles in 2015, and 7 PhD theses during the last 10 years. These and related interests I will introduce on the 30th of June at the LMGP.
