Abstract

In this presentation of the Laboratoire Rhéologie et Procédés, I will illustrate the activities of the LRP through research actions related to the research themes of the LMGP. After a quick description of our organization and the environment with which we collaborate, I will present, among others, the research actions on microfluidics. The way in which a population of soft microparticles in suspension (droplets, core-shell particles, cells) interact is still poorly understood, especially when they are subjected to a constraint: a flow, an electric field, etc. The aim of our work is to understand how microparticles move and organize themselves spatiotemporally, focusing on the role played by their capacity to deform. I will also mention our work in tissue engineering. We work also on polymer processing. In this field, we developed microstructured biopolymer materials for tissue reconstruction. Our collaborations have enabled us to develop biodegradable, biocompatible microfibrous materials with anisotropic mechanical properties on which fibroblast cells are able to proliferate. Microfibrous systems, loaded with carbon nanotubes, have also been developed to create an electroactive support with high surface area for applications in the field of biological sensors or enzymatic biofuel cells.

through these examples, I hope the presentation will contribute to improved knowledge of the research activity of the LRP that is suitable for new collaborations.
