Abstract

The demographic explosion has resulted in the contamination of water bodies with pollutants such as pharmaceutical and pesticides. In the same regard, the by-products of the agro-industrial chain production negatively impact the environment. Thus, the exploitation of these wastes as feedstock or additive for the production of nanomaterials with adsorptive and catalytic properties for the remediation of wastewater bodies. Interestingly, these same materials showed interested catalytic properties regarding a completely different application: Enhanced oil recovery processes
